1 Corinthians 15:27

1 Corinthians 15:27Here is how to refute the Jehovah's Witnesses' false claim that 1 Corinthians 15:27 supports the "all things" in Colossians 1:16 being changed to "all other things."

Jehovah's Witness - 1 Corinthians 15:27 supports the "all things" in Colossians 1:16 being changed to "all other things."

Christian - Please read 1 Corinthians 15:27 in your translation.
Jehovah's Witness - "For God 'subjected all things under his feet.' But when he says that 'all things have been subjected,’ it is evident that this does not include the One who subjected all things to him."

Christian - This verse isn't saying that "all things" mean "all other things." It is simply stating what is obvious, that since God the Father is not a "thing," "it is evident" - the original Greek word "dēlon" means "clear" or "self-evident" - "that this does not include" God the Father, "who subjected all things to" Jesus. How does this statement warrant changing the "all things" to "all other things" in Colossians 1:16, which states, "For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him"?
Jehovah's Witness - I guess it doesn't.

Christian - Do you see how those who are citing 1 Corinthians 15:27, as well as Luke 13:2, Luke 21:29, Colossians 1:15 and Revelation 3:14 as proof text for changing the "all things" to "all other things" in Colossians 1:16 are just throwing anything they can find at the wall and hoping that something sticks?
Jehovah's Witness - I guess.

Christian - Did anything stick?
Jehovah's Witness - No.

Christian - Please read the last sentence in the paragraph.
Jehovah's Witness - "So both the Bible’s teachings as a whole and the probable meaning of the Greek word used here support the rendering 'all other things.' "

Christian - When checked point by point, do any of the claims made in their paragraph support changing "all things" to "all other things" in Colossians 1:16?
Jehovah's Witness - No.
